HexChecks

Hex Checks provides a fast, efficient, and easy-to-use spot and surface testing method for Hexavalent Chromium. Exposure to Hexavalent Chromium, or Cr(VI), can cause nasal and sinus cancers, kidney and liver damage, nasal and skin irritation and ulceration, and eye irritation and damage. Cr(VI) is caused by industrial processes.

Built to suit the needs of DoD maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations, Hex Checks are designed to be carried everywhere and anywhere that Hex Chrome dust might travel. HexChecks have been designed to provide visual confirmation of Hexavalent Chromium, turning a pink to purple color when meeting Hex Chrome. The darker the color, the higher the concentration.

HexChecksTM Testing Swabs

HexChecksTM Testing Swabs are an easy to use, instant field test for detecting the presence of Hexavalent Chromium (Cr 6+) ions, also called HexChrome, on any surface.

HexChrome can enter the industrial are through many processes such as plating, blasting, and welding operation. HexChrome is a known carcinogen and must be detected and neutralized in unwanted areas to keep your workers safe.

To use HexChecksTM Testing Swabs, activate the swab and swipe the suspect surface. When the Testing Swab comes in contact with HexChrome, the Testing Swab’s tip turns a pink/purple color. The darker the color, the higher the HexChrome concentration.

HexChecksTM Neutralizer is an easy to use, cleaning solution that is designed to instantly neutralize Hexavalent Chromium (Cr +6) ion, also called HexChrome.

HexChrome can enter the industrial are through many processes such as plating, blasting, and welding operation. HexChrome is a known carcinogen and must be detected and neutralized in unwanted areas to keep your workers safe.

To use HexChecksTM Neutralizer, add a Neutralizer Pack into a clean Neutralizer Spray Bottle (32 fl oz / 946 mL). Add water and mix thoroughly. Spray the HexChecksTM Neutralizer solution on suspect area until wet, let stand for 10 second and then wipe. The HexChrome is instantly Neutralized.

To confirm all HexChrome has been neutralized, use a HexChecksTM Testing Swab to verify. When the Testing Swab does not change colors, all HexChrome has been Neutralized.

HexChecksTM Starter Kit

Looking to get Started and need a kit to Detect and Neutralize Hexavalent Chromium (HexChrome). This is the Kit for you.

This Starter Kit contains 20 HexChecksTM Testing Swabs to detect HexChrome and 4 Neutralizing Packs with a Spray Bottle to Neutralize.

All you need to do is activate a Testing Swab, swipe and if the swab turns pink, HexChrome is present. After HexChrome is detected, it is time to Neutralize with HexChecksTM Neutralizer.

Add a Neutralizer Pack into the Spray Bottle, add water, mix thoroughly and begin neutralizing. Use a HexChecksTM Testing Swab to confirm the jobsite is safe and free of HexChrome.
