Cast Study: On visiting a vessel it was noted the lube oil pressure was fluctuating during operation. Subsequent inspection finding the pump drive sheared, due to the ring gear on the crankshaft coming loose.
Discussion with the ship managers suggested this was the fourth pump that had been replaced by the crew at great expense.

Maktec have provided the lifejackets for the crew and will monitor the engines fuel, emissions and oil condition during the world record with our Technical Director travelling on one of the longer legs across the Pacific Ocean. We will tap into our customer base and supplier network to provide products or services which will show case the UK marine market at its best.
On completion of the record Maktec will revert back to being the dealer for HydroDiesel fuel and its continued global marine marketing through our agents worldwide.
